Dog Licensing

Adoption Fee

• Neutered or spayed animal: $140.00. Effective 3/1/16.
• Not neutered or spayed (if animals are too young for surgery): $140.00 plus $40.00 neuter/spay deposit refundable with proof of neuter/spay.

Surrender Fee

• $20.00 (Dog) $20.00 (Cat) There is no surrender fee for animals that were adopted from the Mansfield Shelter but then returned.

Adoption and surrender Fees are paid to the Mansfield Shelter Friends are are used for the care of the animals.

Stray Boarding Fee (Dogs)

• $10.00/day and any veterinarian fees incurred during the animal's stay at the shelter.

Unleashed dog

• $25.00 first offense
• $50.00 subsequent offenses

Unlicensed  dog: $25.00
Unvaccinated cat or dog (rabies): $50.00

All dogs require a licenses.

License may be obtained from the Town of Mansfield  Town Clerk’s Office.

A current Rabies Certificate must be presented before a license can be issued.

To license by mail, send a check for the correct amount, payable to the Town of Mansfield and a copy of current rabies certificate. Include a self-addressed stamped envelope to:

Licensing Fees:

• Males/Females $15.00
• Neutered/Spayed $10.00

Dog owners are subject to a $15.00 late fee per dog if licenses are not purchased by April 30th. For more information, please contact the Town Clerk’s Office at 508-261-7345.
